Valliammaiyar Girls’ Higher Secondary School

Valliammaiyar Girls’ Higher Secondary School is located at Kulasekaranpatnam, Thoothukudi District, Tamilnadu.

The school aims
a. To encourage girl students in the surrounding villages to pursue their higher education instead of stopping with their primary level studies.
b. To convince parents that only education will help the girls to be self-reliant and work their way towards a bright future.

The High School was started in 1961 and Higher Secondary classes started in 2002. The school offers courses in Tamil and English medium, conforming to the Government syllabus for classes IX to XII. Arts and Science courses are offered for the Higher Secondary classes.
The school has an able faculty of 21 teaching and non teaching staff members educating around 175 girls annually.

The school encourages its students to actively participate in various extra-curricular activities, including the following.
1.Sports – Kabaddi, athletics, volleyball, football
2.Oratorical competitions, drawing competitions, essay competitions
3.Dramatics

The percentage of passes in public examinations in 2014 for X and XII standards was 100%.
